Book Review: As the World Dies A Zombie Trilogy

Let's start out with the books I just finished reading.

As the World Dies Trilogy written by Rhiannon Frater.
I'll give these books, 6/10... 10 being the best.

The 3 books center around 2 female leads, Katie & Jenni as they try to survive a world thrown in to chaos by the dead returning to life. We go through their struggles to survive the dead, and the living.

Now you may be wondering why I gave these books only a 6 out of 10. I'll tell you why, although the whole story does draw you in, AND is very interesting, there are just parts of the book that frustrated me to the point of insanity.

Parts of the book where I was a fraction of a second from throwing the book across the room and never reading the rest of it again.
I don't want to give too much away, but lets just say that the characters in the book keep their composure a lot more than I would have in their situation.
I'll give an example of something similiar.

In the movie The Mist, there is a group of people who start going all Bible thumper crazy & the entire time, you just wished someone would punch the hell out of that stupid heifer leading them... but nope, no one does. Well, until that one guy shoots her, but that was a bit unsatisfying.

The same sorts of things happen in these books (the 2nd and 3rd mostly).
It is, make you want to rip out your hair, frustrating to the point of almost ruining the books completely.

Also, I'm by no means a grammer nazi in any way shape or form. Hell, I have awful grammer.

But these books are filled to the brim with editting errors. I mean just glaringly obvious ones that are hard to ignore. That's not usually a problem. I know every book is going to have a mess up here and there, but it's like no one proof read these at all.

That's not to say that there aren't positives in the books though. Even though of course the 2 female leads are absolutely gorgeous and blahblahblah, they're, meh somewhat likeable in all their flawed glory. Even though they both do some pretty stupid and extremely annoying things, you still can't help but get attached to them and want to know what happens next. Even when I wanted to chunk the books in to the fireplace, I couldn't, b/c I just had to know what happened.

Also, you really get the impression that the author is definitely a zombie fan and has thought about a good defense & offense against the zombie apocolypse. It's just nice to see ideas I've had, come to life in a book.

So yeah, overall the books are ok, but probably won't be something I'll read again for a VERY long time.

Book Reviews! :D

So I finally figured out what to post about. Well not all of the posts will be this, but a few will since I love reading zombie novels.
Just be warned that my reviews will probably contain some spoilers. I'll try to keep them to a minimum and not spoil anything that would ruin the book.

These aren't going to be professional grade reviews or anything. Hell, I can barely THINK a complete sentence.
BUT, they will be honest.

ZomGal Incoming!

I know, my username is SO original. I really have no imagination to speak of.
I blame it on video games.
I rely on them to be my imagination for me.

So yeah, this blog is just going to be me rambling on about things zombie and otherwise.
I love zombies. I have ever since I was little and saw my first zombie movie.

It's a bit of a love hate relationship I say. I love zombie movies, and books and all that good stuff, but the actual idea of zombies scares the shit out of me.
The "what if they were real" thoughts always go through my head, and I often find myself looking at buildings, wondering if it would be a good place to hold up in.

Anyway, enough of that for now. This is just an intro post anyway. I've never really done a blog before, so forgive me if I'm really newb at this.

I'll be back later once I actually figure out what the hell I want to write about.
